People don’t need more content. They need better learning.
I design structured learning systems that help users move from confusion to confident action.

Most training is built to deliver information.
But information isn't the problem...
People already have access to more content than they could ever use. What they don't have is clarity, structure, and a reason to apply it.
That's where learning breaks down.
I design learning experiences that are:
Easy to engage with
Clear to follow
Built for real-world application
Because if learners don’t finish it, use it, or remember it,
it doesn’t matter how much effort went into creating it.

What I Do
I specialize in designing learning that moves beyond content delivery and into real behavior change.
My work includes:
-
Structuring complex ideas into clear, teachable frameworks
-
Designing engaging, learner-centered experiences
-
Creating practical tools that support real-world application
-
Aligning learning with measurable outcomes
I approach every project with one core question:
“What does the learner need to do differently after this, and how can I make it memorable?”
Learning should feel clear, structured, and doable...not overwhelming.
Who I Am
I'm Katherine Emeneth (my students call me Dr. E). I’ve taught a 13-year-old how to play a Mozart concerto, helped college students write professional emails, and worked with adults to learn how to build website using Saas.
Somewhere along the way, I realized I’m less interested in what people are learning and more interested in how they learn it.
I have a doctorate in music, but at my core, I’m a learning nerd. I've taught 7 year olds and 70 year olds. It doesn't matter their age or the subject, I design structured learning systems that take complex ideas and turn them into clear, actionable steps people can actually use.
I’m currently focused on designing learning experiences in customer education and onboarding.

Selected Work
A Sample from The Music Teacher's Playbook
Module 8: Effective Emailing and Phone Calling
The Music Teacher’s Playbook is a cohort-based onboarding and learning system designed to help users navigate complex, multi-step processes through structured, actionable workflows.
The experience combines asynchronous modules, guided resources, and live sessions to support both initial onboarding and ongoing skill development, with a focus on real-world application rather than passive learning.
There are a total of 17 modules that consist of 3-5 lessons each.

The audience
This learning experience was designed for independent professional musicians responsible for managing client or customer relationships, often without formal training in communication systems or workflows.
These users typically rely on instinct or past experience, which can lead to inconsistency and inefficiency. The goal of this training is to provide structured frameworks that support clarity, confidence, and repeatable outcomes.
The problem
Users struggled with communication due to a lack of clear, repeatable systems. Interactions were often inconsistent, overly complex, or reactive, leading to confusion and inefficiency.
While users understood what they wanted to communicate, they lacked a structured process for how to communicate effectively across common scenarios such as email and phone interactions.
The solution
I designed a modular communication training system that breaks down customer interactions into clear, repeatable workflows supported by templates and guided practice.
The solution combines:
-
step-by-step communication frameworks
-
reusable email and phone templates
-
structured lessons focused on real-world scenarios
-
multi-format delivery (video, written guides, live application)
The goal was to move users from reactive communication to intentional, system-based communication.
My role
This was an independently developed project where I served as both designer and subject matter expert. I oversaw two other subject matter experts and helped them develop content for other lessons within this module.
I led the end-to-end design and development of this learning experience, including:
-
conducting informal needs analysis to identify gaps in user communication workflows
-
translating complex interpersonal processes into structured, repeatable learning frameworks
-
designing and developing multi-format instructional content (video, templates, job aids)
-
structuring content within a learning management system (Kajabi) to support intuitive navigation and user onboarding
-
iterating on content based on learner feedback and observed usage patterns
Outcome
This learning experience enabled users to:
-
communicate more clearly and confidently
-
follow structured workflows instead of guessing
-
reduce errors and miscommunication
-
handle common scenarios more efficiently
By shifting from unstructured communication to workflow-based interaction, users were able to apply what they learned immediately in real-world situations.
Constraints
-
Users had no prior structured communication system
-
Needed immediate real-world application
-
Limited time and attention
What I Built
Workflow-Based eLearning Content
Structured lessons covering communication fundamentals, email systems, and phone interactions. Content was designed to break down communication into actionable steps and support real-world application.
This project demonstrates the design of a structured onboarding system that supports real-time application of communication workflows.
Below are selected examples of the learning assets developed as part of this system.

Customer Communication Frameworks
I created repeatable frameworks that outline step-by-step workflows for common communication scenarios. These frameworks provide users with a clear structure to follow, reducing uncertainty and improving consistency.
By translating communication into defined processes, users are able to approach interactions more intentionally rather than relying on instinct.
Template Library
I developed a set of reusable templates for common communication scenarios.
These templates are designed to:
-
reduce cognitive load
-
improve efficiency
-
maintain clarity and consistency
Users can adapt these templates to their specific situations while still following a structured approach.

Job Aid (Downloadable Quick Reference Tool)
I created a one-page “Customer Call Workflow” guide designed for real-time use during interactions. This job aid reinforces the learning experience by providing a quick, accessible reference that users can apply immediately.
The tool supports performance in the moment, not just knowledge retention.
Tools
Kajabi
The entire program and materials are housed inside Kajabi, a LMS for online programs.
This is where the videos, pdfs, templates, and guides are all organized.

Canva
I used Canva to create all of the pdf materials, graphics, slideshows, and infographics.

iMovie
I used iMovie to edit all of the videos, including adding intro and outro music as well as the animations.

Google Drive
All of the outlines, scripts, and materials for myself and my team were created using Google Drive.

Ongoing Development
I am currently expanding my eLearning development capabilities to support interactive, software-based training experiences.
